The guards patrolling the areas of Sly 4 impressed me to some degree. Their concepts, their attacks, it's all good.
As for myself, I'd have some thoughts if the secret Egypt ending is in a new game. Flashlight guards would be crocodiles or oxen, and the rooftops would be patrolled by either jackals, cats (like in Forty Thieves), or falcons.
These are just my own thoughts, not facts. What do you think? What are your opinions toward the guards in Sly 4? What would you'd like to see for any potential levels?

I really thought all the guards were good choices, except for the random minigun cows (at least the minigun part). I really liked the Persian cats most, though. I just loved the design. And cats. X3

We can all agree the Persian cats are awesome. As for the cows, their guns remind me of the TF2 Heavy.

Glad that's said and done. What about the guards compared to the ones in the last three games?

Hm, I'd say the other guards stick out a bit more because of nostalgia, but these guards fit fairly well. I'd still have to say the originals had better guards. I always loved the Indian Monkeys from Rajan's place and the Shotgun Dingos from the Outback.
Sad I'm the only one in your thread. XD It seems like having more people could start a really good conversation.

I like the guards as long as they fit the theme of the episode.

Speaking of dingos, they used them twice for the guards. I feel as though the Rooftop dingo should be something else, like a poisonous snake.

Me too, and I say they all fit pretty well. I just, as most people, favor some over others.

I really liked the designs of the guards in this game. I think they did a good job in that aspect. If I had to pick a favorite it'd probably be the Persian cats.

I felt like all the guards were almost too easy to kill. Maybe it's just me, but I felt like it wasn't all that important to avoid them since I could just kill them in a few whacks anyway. Not to mention that the owls in Of Mice and Mercs bothered me a little because I thought owls should be a little more, for lack of a better phrase, sacred to the series because of Clockwerk.

The guard concepts were wonderful, but the AI felt too easy. I mean, I shouldn't be able to survive whacking a flashlight guard to death with Bentley (without the use of bombs or darts). It didn't detract from my experience that much, though. The only thing that bothered me was the absence of the bass notes when sneaking with Bentley and Murray... and their lack of fighting stances.
