I bought this game the day it came out and after i finished the game i had the most angry face ever.... and now im gonna say why in this review. First of all lets talk about look of game. Sly cooper looks waaay too much like a racoon instead of a cartoony racoon/human look.Carmelita just looks really werid and different from her old look i dont like that whole bra and skirt thing you cant try to make a character look more like an animal and then try to make them look sexy..... its just wrong. I have no clue what the f**k they did to murray he looks a goofy hippo wearing an outfit and it looks really bad. Bently seems to be the best looking character because he looks like his old self.
Next lets talk about the gameplay/storyline. The ancestors gameplay to me is fu*king bad let me tell you why. ALL the ancestors canes have been changed to look like slighty different verions of sly's cane and it sucks. Because of this ALL the ancestors kind of play the same and have a few different moves instead being a different character period. For example look at rioichi he SHOULD have two small cane swords instead he gets...... a fucking wooden stick...... nice that just screams awesome(not) and even look at tennessee kid cooper's cane.... i don't even think that i need to say it..... A GUN IS NOT THAT FU*KING LONG! It looks so werid!He should be able to run around with a gun and shoot things without having to hold a button instead he is using it as cane/gun and that should NOT be the case. Now lets talk about BOB cooper.... i dont like this one huge reason.... HE IS NOT A KNOWN ANCESTOR! Why would you put unknown ancestor in FIRST new sly cooper game you made. Im sure many would agree that he could be saved for another game or replaced with Slaigh Mac Cooper who is MUCH cooler then this caveman guy. Also we only get to use his REAL cane ONCE after that you have to use that dumb bone cane even when you finish the game.Though in the overall gameplay it is pretty soild and still fun to play. Pickpocketing never gets old i love doing it and i will never stop. Though carmelita seems to be VERY under used in this game half the time she is just pissed off at sly for lying(even though she lied to him in the first place)so that gets really old after a while. I think she could have been used MUCH more.
Now here is something that got me really mad about this game... THE FU*KING LENGTH OF THE GAME. There is NO reason where there are only FIVE ancestors out of ten and one of them is a new one!If you go only for story you will be done in like a day and half it took me longer to beat sly 2 then that!It just seems really lazy not to put all ten of the ancestors since the main boss wants ALL THE MAIN COOPER CANES. Just that storyline alone proves the lazyness of not making more levels.
Now speaking of the boss oh my god...... that ending battle.... what a let down its just a quick time event! NO! It should be a full fight thats actually a little hard not a super easy quick time event. You will finish that boss fight in like 2 mintues.Also to make you even more mad they do two things that out right kills this game to me:1. they make bently's girlfriend EVIL out of nowhere for a forced plot twist that i hated it just seemed too out of character.2. This is the worst thing. After waiting 8 fu*king years for this game they leave us with another one of those half assed,shitty, lazy FU*KING CLIFFHANGERS. I HATE CLIFFHANGER THEY ARE JUST ANOTHER WAY OF SAYING"thank you for spending 40 dollars on this game and to reward you we want you to wait longer for the full ending bye!" I was screaming when i saw that i was so upset about this game because im a huge fan of all the games and i wanted this game to be better. So sanzuru GET YOUR FUCKING HANDS OFF THIS GAME AND LET SUCKERPUNCH DO THE NEXT ONE. this game gets a 4/10!
